On the occasion of 156th birth anniversary of the father of India Mahatma Gandhi, grand tributes were paid at Chandra Rajeswararao Foundation in Kondapur, Hyderabad. Honorary Chairman of CR Foundation Dr. K. Narayana paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's picture by laying garlands.
Speaking on this occasion, on 2nd October 1999, under the auspices of CR Foundation, the Home of Aged inaugurated.
After seeing the old age home services under the supervision of Chandra Rajeswara Rao Foundation for the last 25 years, Sri Chebrolu Nageswara Rao has donated his valuable four acres of land near Guntur town to CR Foundation. Narayana thanked them and said that their wish to build an old age home in that place will be implemented soon.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Foundation, the senior citizens living in the Chandra Rajeswararao Foundation old age home distributed mementos to the senior residents of the home above 90 years of age. Centennial old freedom fighter Edama Ramireddy, senior journalists ABK Prasad, Kanchibotla Subbalakshmi, B Venugopal, Sumitra Chowdary, Jaya Pradhamba, Muvva Guravayya, Vaidevi, , P Sampurnamma garu has been given priority. Dr. Narayana went to their rooms and handed over memorandums to Dr. P Saraswathi and Parvathaneni Leela Kumarila as they could not attend the function.
On this occasion, the 90+ aged residents spoke and expressed their gratitude to the Foundation that they are living in this old age home, that their life span is increasing due to the services provided by them by CR Foundation.
Foundation Treasurer, Old age home director V Chennakesavarao presided over the meeting. Foundation Secretary, Legislative Council Ex Member PJ Chandrasekara Rao, Neelam Rajasekara Reddy Research Center Director Dr. T. Suresh, Old age home committee members Tammareddy Tania, Dr. M Gopichand, N Rajendra Rao, Retired Scientist Mallampati Venkateswara Rao, Home Manager Srinivas, Old age home residents and others participated.
