People are questioning where is Swarajya

- CPI National Secretary and former MP Binoy Vishwam

Chandra Rajeshwar Rao's birth anniversary memorial meeting conducted in grand style .

The slogan 'Swarajya' given by Gandhiji during the freedom struggle means a gathering, a nest and a shade for all the people, and after 75 years of independence, people are questioning where is Swarajya, and they have nothing to do with it, said CPI National Secretary and former MP Binoy Vishwam. He criticized that Prime Minister Modi's slogan of 'Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikas' is completely false, and that the poor, workers, employees and farmers are not with anyone, neither the Prime Minister nor the Central Government, but they are in league with big capitalists, corporate institutions and individuals. He said that the Left parties should move forward more actively with ideological thinking, training, and action on the current problems and developments in the country and around the world.

The 111th birth anniversary of legendary CPI leader Chandra Rajeswara Rao was celebrated at CR Foundation, Kondapur, Hyderabad on Monday. The function was presided over by CR Foundation Honorary Chairman Dr. K. Narayana, and was attended by prominent economist Professor D. Narasimha Reddy, CR Foundation President Muppalla Nageswara Rao, Vice President Jalli Wilson, General Secretary, former MLA Palla Venkata Reddy, Secretaries Chennamaneni Venkateswara Rao, P.J. Chandrasekhara Rao, CR Polyclinic Director Dr. K. Rajani, Director of Neelam Rajasekhara Reddy Research Center Dr. T. Suresh, NFIW national leaders Dr. B.V. Vijayalakshmi, P.Prem Pavani, Foundation Treasurer V. Chennakesava Rao and others.

Speaking at the gathering Sri Binoy Viswam said that the Left parties need to closely examine the current situation in the country, the upcoming national and international changes and reforms. He said that they are examining the developments after Trump won the US elections. They say that they have created a ‘trickle down’ in the name of marketing economy and the country’s income will gradually decrease, and that the wealth of the rich, landlords, contractors and middle class employees will be distributed and everyone will be happy, but in practice, the richest groups, corporates and the rich are getting profits, while the poor are getting nothing. He criticized that there are political, social and economic challenges in the country and that as part of the fascist move, the move to divide the people in the name of communalism and loot both the communities is continuing. He expressed anger that the state is being mocked, the democratic system and all secular policies are being weakened. He said that it should be remembered that while on one side there are left-wing parties that value humanity, equality, and democracy, on the other side there are fascist forces that misuse democracy and religion to plunder wealth for corporate powers, and that it is impossible to achieve harmony and unity between the two.

He recalled that for the first time in 1980, the CPI and CPI(M) came together in Kerala to fight jointly, and the people of Kerala came in droves to listen to the speeches of CR and Namboodiripad. He said that the unity of the communists and the future indicated a new direction and phase. He explained that the CPI worked together with the Congress Party from 1969 to 1979, and then in 1979, keeping in mind the unity of the Left, the CPI and CPI(M) moved forward with the spirit of Chandra Rajeshwar with the resolve to influence the politics of the country and the state. He said that Chandra Rajeshwar's speeches and ideological work would be very useful for today's generation of communists, and that by redefining the ideology, they should believe in it, understand it, take it to the people, engage in action with the people, and take all the Left parties forward together. He said that Chandra Rajeshwara Rao's lectures, ideals, and aspirations will serve as guides to take this great task forward.

He said that the world rejects Trump's attack on everyone in the name of tariffs, and that only India has not rejected that policy, and thus Prime Minister Modi has pledged India's honor to America, and the people of the country are expressing serious dissatisfaction with this attitude adopted by Prime Minister Modi, who shows a 56-inch chest. The fanatical forces in America, and the rise of a person leading the Republican Party as a political leader, are ruling politics and corporate powers. He said that world politics are destroying the economy. He said that in the name of immigration and illegal workers, Indians who are called Americans are put on military planes like criminals, shackled to their feet and left here for 48 hours, but it is unfair that Prime Minister Modi, who has a 56-inch chest, does not open his mouth like a slave.

Economist Professor Narasimha Reddy said that it is not right for the World Bank to claim that poverty has reduced in India, and that it is not appropriate to assess poverty based on the purchasing power of the people. He said that people are still facing unemployment, education and health problems in the country. He questioned why people are not getting education, healthcare and employment opportunities if poverty has reduced in the country as stated by the World Bank. The Prime Minister, who says that India has surpassed Japan in GDP growth, is still at 136th place in the world in per capita income. He said that unemployment in the country is still 6 percent, and the youth are the most unemployed. He said that according to the 'trickle down' principle, the lower classes of the society are not getting their due share in the country's production and income, and moreover, the benefits of the upper classes are gradually increasing, while the benefits of the lower classes are decreasing, which is not good for the welfare and progress of the country. This is evidenced by the fact that 64 paise of one rupee's income reaches the richest 10 percent of the country, while 36 paise reaches the bottom 90 percent of the people. First, Binoy Vishwam garlanded the statues of Chandra Rajeswara Rao and Neelam Rajasekhar Reddy, located in the CR Foundation premises.
