On the occasion of 25th death anniversary of Telangana farmer armed fighter Arutla Kamaladevi, a grand tribute was paid at the Women Welfare Center which is running by CR Foundation.
Remembering her heroic struggle on this occasion:
Arutla Kamaladevi, who was the first student of Raja Bahadur Venkatram Reddy Women's College in Barkatpura, said that she fought for hostel accommodation for the girls of that time and fought for setting up a women's hostel at YMC. Even though India got independence, Telangana did not get independence, Arutla Kamaladevi and Arutla Ramachandra Reddy participated in the armed fight called by the Indian Communist Party by holding gun. In the first assembly elections, they said that they were elected from Aleru. They said that they worked as the CPI assembly party leader. As the leader of the Indian National Women's Union, she said that many fights will be conducted for the rights of many women. Speakers have called for all of us to work hard to achieve the ambitions of Arutla Kamaladevi.
